I’ve been on a Seth Godin kick recently. (It could be because he puts out a lot of excellent material.)  In a recent blog post, Seth suggested several items that likely aren’t on anyone’s job description, but arguably should be.  As Seth says,:

Now that it’s easier than ever to outsource a job to someone cheaper (or a robot) there needs to be a really good reason for someone to be in the office.

I like all of the suggested tasks, but my favorites are:

  • Ask why
  • Get smarter at your job through training or books
  • Encourage curiosity
  • Figure out what didn’t work

What are your favorite tasks that Seth suggests?  What would you add to the list?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.
