Are you a “Jurassic Auditor“?  The latest post by IIA CEO Richard Chambers on TheIIA.org asks this question and suggests 7 signs that you may be a Jurassic Auditor.  My favorite signs:

  • You build your audit plan based on a cycle, rather than an assessment of risk
  • You avoid using technology to enable more complete or reliable approaches
  • You write more about the condition (of the observation) than the recommendation

The good news is that you can evolve from a Jurassic Auditor by shifting your approach and embracing a more progressive approach.

How do you and your organization stack up against these signs?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.
