A few weeks ago, I attended the American Rental Association’s Volunteer Recognition Awards and see my Dad receive the A.R.A.’s Distinguished Service Award. It “recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership with long-term service to the association at the national, state/provincial and local levels.”  I was so proud to see my Dad up there talking about the importance of volunteering and having the support of family and friends.  Like my grandparents before him, my Dad’s volunteerism has reminded me the importance of giving back to the communities I’m a member.  He’s give me a lot to live up to, so I guess I’d better get to work.
