Like many of you, I’m swamped by email on a daily basis (both personal emails and professionals).  I try to manage an “Inbox Zero” (with varying levels of success) but I’ve found that this approach is equally dependent on other’s approach to email.  I came across the Save Our Inboxes Email Charter a few weeks ago and have been trying to adopt it myself.  Basically, the charter outlines 10 rules that should be considered when (A) setting up your email and (B) sending email messages.  The goal is to consider the message recipients (and their inboxes) when sending a message so that your communicating as efficiently as possible with the correct audience.

This certainly isn’t an easy change to make when you’ve used email for years, but I’m trying.  If you get an email message from me that doesn’t conform with these rules, let me know.  And consider adopting the Email Charter yourself!
